What is your genre?

Romance/suspense is Deceitful Secrets while Lucy’s Faith is New Adult Fiction

Is there anything you find particularly challenging in your writing?

When my characters stop talking to me it can be challenging.

What motivated you to become an author?

It was becoming an empty nester and having to find my way back to myself after giving my all to my daughter to make sure she chase her dreams, not realizing I was not chasing my first love- writing.

What brought you to write this book?

Lucy’s Faith is part 2 in a series that was birth during the 2nd year of my battle with Breast Cancer. The story came during a time when I was trying to find my writing mojo through a 30-day short-story writing assignment by Walter Mosley in the writing Master Class he taught in early 2021. Everything that I was dealing with emotionally and physically came to life in this series. Meanwhile, Deceitful Secrets was a story that I dreamed one night that I literally woke up out of my sleep and wrote the story as if it was a moving playing before my eyes.

How many books have you written so far?

I have written 3 that are published and 6 more that I consider incomplete since I am still writing those.

What book or books had a strong influence on you and your writing?

I can’t say one book in particular, but there is a book by Toure Roberts “Purpose Awakening” had a strong influence on me. This book lived up to its title to awaken my purpose for storytelling and to see clearly the big picture of what sharing our stories really means.

How hard is it to establish in your genre?

It’s not hard to establish in my genre in my opinion for Romance.  However, I stumbled into writing in the New Adult Fiction and it’s

Where do you love to write?

I love writing on my patio and in my writing room while playing instrumental music.

Where do you get your ideas from?

My ideas come from my imagination, daydreaming, dreams, and witnessing folks’ drama in public.

What is your favorite fiction book?

Only one? That is hard because I have several favorites, but my all-time favorite is by one of my favorite authors… I absolutely love Copycat by Kimberla Lawson Roby.

How hard is it to establish in your genre?

It’s not hard to establish in my genre in my opinion for Romance.  However, I stumbled into writing in the New Adult Fiction and it’s a new experience for me but I am learning it as I go from other established New Adult Fiction writers.
