Book Spotlight – Someone Needs To Read This! – Rev. Dr. Nina M. Thompson

This book will help you from merely treading water, to floating to eventually walking on water with little fear of drowning. It will help you find a better way to “go through” so that you can “get to” your next assignment, your next victory, your greater.

Synopsis – Life isn’t always easy to live. Period. All the stones, potions, meditation, scriptures, chants, kindly spoken words…. WILL NOT CHANGE THAT. If we fail to understand that, life can become one frustration and disappointment after another. We may frequently feel like failures, moving through life with emotional highs and lows that lead to depression, poor health, and sometimes, a desire not to be here anymore. But life is not made to be drama free. The challenges can strengthen us, help us develop coping mechanisms, lead us to our life purpose, and position us so that difficulties do not immobilize us or hurt us, causing us to check out…emotionally or literally. The journey can be challenging. The journey can be frustrating. If we are completely honest and past pretending that we have it all figured out, we also will admit that some days the journey is confusing. This book provides wisdom to move through the highs and lows of life. It will help you move from treading water, to floating, to eventually walking on water with little fear of drowning. It will show you that There IS a better way to live your life. Every curve ball doesn’t have to cause you to strike out or sit on the bench. Spiritually inspired wisdom can show you a better way to “go through” so you can “get to” your next assignment, your next victory, your greater. It may not change the bumps and bruises of the journey, but it can change the way that you feel about and respond to it. Be that “SOMEONE” who had the sense enough to know when support is needed.

Why did you decide to write Someone Needs to Read This?

I found myself waking up almost every night or early morning, and God kept dropping words of wisdom into my spirit. I would then post these on my Facebook pages with the title: Someone Needs to Read This! I had been thinking of doing a 4th book and I was led to those posts and the title I had been using on Facebook. I realized that was my book.

What’s the best part of being an author?

Having a voice and a platform to use it on. The writing process is wonderfully creative and fulfilling, but even if no one ever reads your book, that won’t change the fact that you were able to put all of these magnificent thoughts on paper.

What’s the worst part of being an author?

So many story ideas, and so little time; especially if you don’t have the luxury to focus only on writing.

Who is your favorite character in the book, and why?

This book doesn’t have characters – at least not any with names. It’s a book about finding a better way to get through, move through and live through life. I think I like the forward better than anything.

What was the hardest part of writing the story?

Again, it’s not the traditional book with characters that have names. This book is a book of many stories – yours, mine, and many other people. It’s a book about how we feel about our lives, our careers, our relationships, our world around us.

If you were to write a book about your life, what would the title be and why?

God’s Ms Anyhow – a lot of times we intentionally pick and choose how obedient we will be toward God. While I am not perfect, I made up my mind about 20 years a go to strive for obedience to God. Gods Ms Anyhow means that whatever you say God, I might not want to do it, my friends may not want me to do it, I may not know how to do it, I may be scared to do it…… but I am going to do it anyhow.

What is something readers would be surprised to know about you?

That I am a silly person that loves to laugh. I spend so much time “doing and achieving” that most people don’t know I’m just a big kid that loves walking and playing in the rain, and just being silly.

What are you currently working on right now?

I am employed full-time in Public Information, I have a young adult ministry, and I do workshops for young adults. I am currently working on my next book – A Little Something to Ease the Pain.

Do you have anything else you would like to add?

The greatest blessing of books are the lessons that we learn from them, the lives we shared with others, and they wisdom within the fountain of words that we drink from. Reading opens a whole new world to us and also increases our IQ.
