Fear will have you stuck in a place that is not good for you. Sometimes we have to make uncomfortable decisions, do it even if you have to do it afraid.

What is the purpose of this book?

The purpose of this book is to encourage readers to love themselves enough to get out of situations that mean them no good. DO IT AFRAID.

Are there themes that you find turn up again and again in your work? A common thread?

You have to love yourself enough to say enough is enough. I don’t care if you’ve been in a situation for months or years, you must learn to do what’s best for you. In my book Love Don’t Live Here Anymore, Nyree finds herself dealing with a similar situation. Eventually, she does what’s in her best interest. In the book, Love of My Life, Gia is a psychiatrist. Counseling and giving advice to people, and her life is in shambles. She knows what she should do but fear has her in a situation and lifestyle that she hates she feels helpless until she is forced to do something about it. Even being forced she must DO IT AFRAID.

Which character or part of the book was the most fun to write? Which part was the hardest?

The most fun part of the book is when the characters discuss who is the better rapper, Biggie or Tupac. The most difficult part of the book is when Gia shares her hearing loss. I personally lost my hearing in one ear, not under the circumstances that Gia does but sharing how she adjusts is part of my story.

Can you tell us something that even your most loyal fans may not know about you?

I did not think that I could write a love story. I was afraid to try. My Literary Mentor told me to DO IT AFRAID. I did and I also created DO IT AFRAID shirts.
