Yielding to pressure from her mother and her husband, Denise agrees to keep his addiction a secret, although her self-esteem plummets. Her life as the perfect First Lady is falling apart at the seams.
How do you get the idea for your book, ILLUSIONS?
Illusions grew from a 1000-word short story. I wanted to portray Christians battling real struggles and overcoming them.
What is your favorite line from your book?
I don’t have a favorite line, but my favorite element is the ivy story.
Which of your characters do you believe are most like you and why question?
Bryce is most like me. I spent years defining my identity in church work and pleasing others.
What message do you hope readers will take away from your book?
The main message I want to convey to readers is that God is concerned about every area of our lives, and He can heal us everywhere we hurt.
How did you get published?
I won a short story contest with the prize of being published by a traditional publishing house.
