Why did you decide to write it?
Growing Pains is the sequel to Kayla’s Redemption, which included Sam and Kayla’s budding romance. Growing Pains picks up with the “happily ever after”. I wanted to demonstrate that when life and love collide, the real work in marriage begins.
What’s the best part of being an author?
The best part of being an author is the ability to write stories that both entertain and bring healing.
What’s the worst part of being an author?
The worst part of being an author is having to end the story. Long after the last sentence, my characters continue to live in my head.
Who is your favorite character in the book, and why?
My favorite character is Pastor Simmons. I love his wisdom. He’s a strong leader and exemplifies God’s love for His children.
What was the hardest part of writing the story?
The hardest part of writing Growing Pains was getting into the mind of a wounded child.
If you were to write a book about your life, what would the title be and why?
The title would probably contain something from each of my novels, as each novel contains my real-life experiences.
