Book Spotlight – Naked and Not Ashamed- Chanelle Coleman

5 words that describe Naked & Not Ashamed: The Transformational Devotional Experience

Uncensored, Authentic, Compelling, Transformational, Impactful

Book highlight:

Purpose of the book: Although this book focuses on stories of women who lived more than two centuries ago these narratives resonate with women who are living today. We are able to draw many powerful insights from their experiences as we navigate through our own path on this difficult journey called life.

Reoccurring themes or a common thread in the book:

Is there a reoccurring theme in Naked & Not Ashamed? Absolutely! The message that is consistently repeated is the willingness of Jesus Christ to be accessed by these women in their varying stages of nakedness. The word nakedness is used because the women bared themselves emotionally, socially, spiritually, and relationally stripping themselves of all pretense. This allows them to become truly transparent in their encounter with the Master and as a result, their lives are irrevocably changed. The Savior of the world is found in every woman earnestly seeking Him. The devotional also demonstrates Christ’s desire and ability to reach the reader where she is too.

Which character or part of the book was the most fun to write? Which part was the hardest?

It’s extremely difficult for me to pick a favorite character. I selected these women because their stories spoke to me on various levels. But if I had to pick one I’d say the story of my beautiful daughter Taniyah. Her story is a modern-day miracle and demonstrates that God is still in the healing business. By the same token, Taniyah’s story was also the most difficult for me to write.
Her story wasn’t just something that I read about it was something that I experienced. And it was important for me to tell the stories in a way that brought the reader along with me in the story.

Can you tell us something that even your most loyal fans may not know about you?

Here’s something most people don’t know about me. I may look calm, cool, and collected on the outside but internally I could be experiencing an array of emotions. But I also understand that as a creative I can be overly dramatic. My emotions can go through a roller coaster of extremes in 2.2 seconds, literally.
