Why did you decide to write it?
The Crazy Faith Anthology was an assignment from God. It was very important for me to be obedient to the call and through the process, I developed Crazy Faith and found out what it meant to have Crazy Faith.
What’s the best part of being an author?
The best part of being an author is seeing my words on pages in a book. Also, have an impact on the lives of others.
What’s the worst part of being an author? I cannot think of anything.
Who is your favorite character in the book, and why?
I would say David from the Bible. I love how he encouraged himself before he had to face off with Goliath. His life shows us how he shows up even in adverse situations.
What was the hardest part of writing the book?
Well, Crazy Faith is an anthology. So, one of the most challenging parts of publishing an anthology is coordinating everything and meeting deadlines.
If you were to write a book about your life, what would the title be and why?
My second novel, Love Don’t Live Here Anymore is that book. It is currently not in print. I wrote this book because I went through a divorce and rough times. I could not seem to get over the anger. Writing that novel was cathartic and therapeutic. It is not solely autobiographical but was what I needed to move beyond that place in my life. Readers have come to love the main characters in the book, Nyree, and Malachi.
What is something readers would be surprised to know about you?
Readers will probably be surprised to know that sometimes when I’m writing I must have certain things present. Some of my favorite go-to things are Erykah Badu and Maxwell playing in the background and Mountain Dew and Twizzlers. I like to dip my Twizzlers in my Mountain Dew.
What are you currently working on right now?
I am working on a book, which is my testimony, I’m Still Standing.
