Can you share one highlight from the book?

One highlight from the book is during the introduction when I explain to parents, teachers, and students the benefits of the book and why the lesson plan will be beneficial for young children. I believe children are not exposed to STEM at an early age. That is why created the lesson plan.

What is the purpose of this book?

The purpose of the book is to expose children from disadvantaged backgrounds between the grades of K-4 to environmental science STEM career fields. Career fields such as Geology, Environmental Science, and GIS (Geographic Information Systems) are featured in the book.

Are there themes that you find turn up again and again in your work? A common thread?

I believe I focus mainly on teaching children about STEM and the benefits of entering into a STEM career field. I believe one day I will branch out into writing a children’s book that is more adventure and story-oriented.

Which character or part of the book was the most fun to write? Which part was the hardest?

I believe the hardest part of the book was organizing each activity for the appropriate grade level. It was also difficult to select which activities would be the most helpful, interesting, and fun.

.Can you tell us something that even your most loyal fans may not know about you?

I have a creative mind and spirit. I currently work in STEM, but I love the arts.

Is there anything else you would like to share with our readers?

Don’t be afraid to step outside of your comfort zone to learn something new.
