Book of the Week – Whole Again – La Wanda Marrero

Whole Again is a book of testimonies about the making of strong women. They share how their trials gave them strength and the capacity to become who they are today. Time heals all wounds, but what do you do while you’re waiting? The stories within these pages will show you just how they did it. So, prepare your hearts to be touched and encouraged that there is a plan for your pain.

Which five words best describe Whole Again?

Challenges, confusion, acceptance, and knowing the word of God for yourself

Can you share one highlight from the book?

I had to fast to remember my teaching in this perilous time and know that God is who I belonged to not the church or a man’s authority.

What is the purpose of this book?

To remind people that sometimes you face difficulty but you have to believe in God and what you have been taught yourself.

Are there themes that you find turn up again and again in your work? A common thread?

Yes, learning about me, Pen and Pad moments, and talking about those who encourage and inspire me with their belief in me. As well as there is no shame in getting help especially if you are in a leadership role family, church, community, or work.

Which character or part of the book was the most fun to write? Which part was the hardest?

There was no fun in writing this book, it was difficult, with lots of soul searching, fasting, and disagreement with what was happening spiritually. The metal met me in the middle of the road and I had to make some difficult choices to do what God said or obey the disobedience of authority. I take joy in that it was accomplished.

Can you tell us something that even your most loyal fans may not know about you?

Not sure I wear many hats but I am open and loving. I am compassionate about my community. I feed the homeless and host Xmas Toys for Tots program

Is there anything else you would like to share with our readers?

Take a chance on yourself and create.
