Today, we recognize the contributions and services of pastors, priests, reverends, ministers, and all other clergymen. On Pastor Appreciation Day we come together to express our gratitude to pastors and other staff of the church. Senior Pastor Danyelle Scroggins of New Vessels Ministries North in Shreveport, Louisiana is a dynamic author of both Christian fiction and non-fiction books. She studied Theology at Louisiana Baptist University, has a Psychology Degree from the University of Phoenix, an Interdisciplinary Degree in Psychology /Biblical Studies, and a Masters in Religious Education from Liberty University. She owns Divinely Sown Publishing LLC and is an avid reader. She is the wife of Pastor Reynard Scroggins and the mother of three by birth and two by marriage.

Associate Minister Dr. Velma Bagby has 30+ years of ministering to single women, providing pre-marriage and marriage counseling. When ministering to singles or speaking to couples, or in her writing, Dr. Velma has personally seen the danger and misery of choosing outside what God wants. “It’s like having over ten keys on a keyring, but only knowing where two or three of them fit. God has given believers the keys, but we do not know what keys are used to unlock certain doors. Or we attempt to use the wrong key on the wrong door. And some simply do not know how to use a key,” she says.
Dr. Velma loves storytelling and using her imagination to present an important message. Her inspiration for writing fictional stories comes from recognizing that Jesus was a Master Storyteller who used relatable things in stories with deeper meaning. She hopes those who read her fiction books will come away with nuggets they can use for themselves or share with others.
