Tell us about your book, The Reunion.
The Reunion is book 1 in a new romantic suspense series, The Langston Sisters. In book 1, Crystal is recovering from an abusive marriage and has plans to prove she’s doing just fine. She attends her 20th college reunion with this goal in mind, but her ex-husband also attends. And ends up dead. Crystal is the #1 suspect. Marcel has just launched his political campaign for District Attorney. He’s been friends with Crystal for 30 years, so he represents her in the murder case against her ex-husband. Will his feelings cloud his judgment? Will Crystal rise above the charges? And if she does, it may not be the end of this nightmare for her.
Why did you decide to write it?
I’ve had an idea for a romantic suspense story stewing for a while. When the idea I had wasn’t working, I came up with this one. I’m happy about the direction of this story.
What’s the best part of being an author?
Aside from meeting readers, the best part about being an author is the ability to write about most of the crazy ideas that come to my head, without people thinking I’m crazy. LOL.
What’s the worst part of being an author?
I don’t know if there’s the worst thing, but I’d like more time or more discipline to get all my writing goals accomplished on a daily basis.
Who is your favorite character in the book, and why?
I love Marcel. Even though he and Crystal start off as only friends, it’s evident he has feelings for her. It takes her a while to realize it, though.
What was the hardest part of writing the story?
I wouldn’t say there’s a hard part, but I had to interview cops and attorneys to ensure I got certain scenes right. Can’t tell you which ones because I might spoil the story. 🙂
If you were to write a book about your life, what would the title be and why?
Balancing Act. I’m constantly looking for ways to better balance everything I have going on between family, work, writing, and other personal interests.
What is something readers would be surprised to know about you?
I’m not sure if they’d be surprised, but one fun fact is that I didn’t learn how to swim until I was 35.
What are you currently working on right now?
I’m working on the next book in this series, which is tentatively titled, The Wrong Seat.
Do you have anything else you would like to add?
Please accept this open invitation to read, enjoy, and review, The Reunion.
