Synopsis
She has nothing to lose, but loving her could cost him everything. Is he willing to risk it all a second time around when she has less than thirty days to live?
Renowned motivational speaker Nina Marie Robinson has received a grim prognosis. With the little time she has left, she’s giving one last commencement speech at her alma mater Jackson State University and taking a well-deserved vacation to the Bahamas. Nina is also determined to show her college sweetheart she’s still in love with him, but can she convince him to drop everything and board that plane with her?
Andrew McCall is one step away from being promoted to professor at Jackson State University. If anything goes wrong, Andrew will find himself in the last place he wants to be—the chief executive officer of McCall Resorts as his father’s successor. When Nina comes to town and requests that he accompany her to the Bahamas, will he have to choose between the woman he’s always loved and everything he’s worked for?
How do you get the idea for your novel With Every Breath?
I love second-chance romances! I had a general idea about writing a second chance romance with college sweethearts that would reunite on a vacation but hadn’t quite come up with how it would happen. A few months before I started writing the story, I experienced sudden onsets of dizziness. At times, it felt like I was dying when the room would spin and I hadn’t moved from my seat or bed. Scary thought! My doctor diagnosed me with vertigo and prescribed medicine and exercises for the dizziness.
After that, it hit me!
Boom!
I amped it up a thousand and put my main character, Nina, in a situation where she had to determine what was most important to her and decide what to do about it. Then, With Every Breath, was born.
What is your favorite line from your book?
I’m not sure if I have a favorite line, but my favorite scene is when Andrew and Nina see each other again for the first time in over 15 years.
Which of your characters do you believe are most like you and why question?
I’m not sure any of them are like me, but if I had to choose one, perhaps Nina. Like most of us, sometimes it takes being in a difficult situation to realize the strength that God gives us. Nina didn’t know how strong she was until Andrew continued to show her that God’s power was at work in her.
What message do you hope readers will take away from your book?
Sometimes we live like we have a limitless amount of time, but when faced with the reality of our mortality, we change, and that’s what happens to Nina. That’s also what I’d like readers to know after reading this book. Our time on earth is limited. If you love someone, tell them. Share your love and the beauty that is you with the world while you still can. And remember, above all else, that God loves you and is always with you. You are called for His purpose.
How did you get published?
I self-published my first book in 2012.
What have been your greatest literary accomplishments?
I’ve been nominated and received awards for my books, but the greatest accomplishment is the ability to share my work with readers and get to meet readers who’ve enjoyed my work.
Do you have any new books in the works?
Absolutely! I’m always working on something. Right now I’m working on my first romantic suspense series, Langston Series. Book 1, The Reunion will be released on October 25, 2022.
Is there anything else you would like the readers to know?
If you haven’t already, please read and review, The McCall Family series. If you have read it, thank you for your support.
