Why did you decide to write it?
I wrote this book as a dedication to my parents. Their lives and the stories they told me motivated me to write historical fiction. They were great storytellers.
What’s the best part of being an author?
The best part of being an author is when you write a story that you know people can relate to.
What’s the worst part of being an author?
The worst part of being an author is when your characters stop speaking to you.
Who is your favorite character in the book, and why?
My favorite character in Wading is Mathias. Mathis’ character was written about my dad. My mother said that he was her heartthrob.
If you were to write a book about your life, what would the title be and why?
If I were to write a book about my life I would call it, “Roe, The Black Hippy” Because I am a naturalist. I like things that are unusual and artsy.
What was the hardest part of writing the story?
The hardest part of being an author is finding the time to write.
What is something readers would be surprised to know about you?
Readers would be surprised to know that I m also a poet and a playwright.

I am currently working on a Kindle Vella story.
