Book Spotlight – Alice N Crackland

Alice N Crackland is a forthright, enthralling, provocative journey through darkness into the light. The author’s relentless search for the truth and her willingness to accept what she finds is captivating. She faces life on life’s terms, always willing to see the blessings and the humor in her struggles. She has an amazing ability to rise above the devastating confusion of being abused by those who were supposed to love and protect her. Readers from all walks of life and personal persuasions will be inspired by the resiliency of the human spirit and filled with compassion for the author. The reader gets to witness the squalid street life of pimps, prostitutes, drug users, and dealers that the author lived in and by the grace of God was not consumed by. The author describes eloquently the intense conflict of being both an addict and a mother. She wanders through the maze of Crackland and guided by her benevolent pastor and congregation, she awakens in the “Wonderland of Love.” This book was not only healing for the author and many family members, it had the miraculous effect of uniting them with renewed understanding, compassion, and respect for each other. It has the potential to do the same for the reader.
