How do you get the idea for your book?
Love Pour Over Me is a story that came to me from within. There is no specific event that inspired the book. However, when I finished Love Pour Over Me, an event in the story actually happened in my personal life. It is what happens between Raymond and his father, Malcolm, near the end of the story – years after their complicated relationship has evolved.
What is your favorite line from your book in question?
It’s not a particular line in Love Pour Over Me. Instead, it’s the story’s message that love finds a way, it always finds a way.
Which of your characters do you believe are most like you and why?
Hmmm… I think I’m a blend of Raymond and Brenda, his soul mate.
What message do you hope readers will take away from your book?
That love is always the best choice and that the rewards and evidence of love might take a while to show up. Yet, love is always the right choice.
How did you get published?
Since Portia, my first novel, I have self-published and I love it!!
What have been your greatest literary accomplishments?
Continuing to write engaging stories, believe in my God gift and keep marketing my books and connecting with people who appreciate good stories.
Do you have any new books in the works?
Yes! Gada’s Glory, which is set in Chicago, Escaping to Freedom and Rosetta’s Great Hope, is on deck to come out soon!
