“You know, Robyn is cheating on you, right?” Anthony says adding sugar to his sweet tea as if he isn’t ruining my life.
What is the purpose of this book?
Brown Girl Books put out a call for stories for an anthology. All of the stories had to contain secrets and/or lies. I found the premise fascinating so decided to craft a story about a man discovering his girlfriend is lying to him.
Are there themes that you find turn up again and again in your work? A common thread?Oh yes. The theme that turns up in my work is marriage and what happens after the “I Do’s”. Not everyone gets to happily ever after and I like to explore the myriad reasons things can go astray.
Which character or part of the book was the most fun to write? Which part was the hardest?
The entire story and characters were fun to write. I enjoy doing short stories because it only allows for a snapshot into a character’s life. The condensed time frame makes every word count.
Can you tell us something that even your most loyal fans may not know about you?
I am obsessed with the Black Lady Sketch show. Have you seen it? If not, you must go and watch both seasons. There are skits that I’ve downloaded and watch almost every day. Every. Day. It’s hilarious!!!!! Blippilty! Scat, scat, scat!
Is there anything else you would like to share with our readers?
All of the stories in the Confession anthology are uniquely good. It has something for everyone to enjoy.
