The book includes strategies for spiritual leaders to both heal themselves and help those they are covering heal and understand the hurt we sometime encounter in our safe space.
What is the purpose of this book?
To examine why church hurt is one of the most painful experiences in the world. How it attacks us where we are most open and trusting… in church and on our spiritual journey. The book examines how it happens, how to recognize it, how to heal without blame, and how to understand the impact and residue it leaves behind– both church leadership and impacted individuals. It also celebrates how liberating it is to our spiritual selves once we understand it and how to grow from it.
Are there themes that you find turn up again and again in your work? A common thread?
Absolutely. The power of spiritual understanding, the power of forgiveness of yourself and others, the power of healing and freedom that comes with understanding your purpose. As we get rid of emotional clutter, we begin to make space to experience relationship with God in ways we never imagined. The power of truly having God in your life in the right way, and the power that is inside each of us.
Which character or part of the book was the most fun to write? Which part was the hardest?
My books thus far have been non fiction. Along with my prophetic gifting, I have a strong gift of pastoring and teaching. Most of my books center on helping folks discover who they are, why the were created and what wonderful things they accomplished. The goal is always spiritual depth that will bring emotional freedom.
Can you tell us something that even your most loyal fans may not know about you?
I am really a lover, with sensitive feeling that God has to protect.
Is there anything else you would like to share with our readers?
This book is not just for those hurt while participating in religious activities. It is for anyone who is hurt anywhere and for any reason. The healing text and scriptures will free ALL from a life burdened by pain, sorrow and ghosts of past hurts.
I have helped launch a church, helped to lead a church, joined a church and left a church. I know the hurt from all angels. This book will deliver you. It is still selling a couple of books each month with little to no marketing. The strategies work! Period!
