Writing Prompt- Out of the blue, I heard footsteps in the empty, dark street…..

This month, I ask writers to finish a writing prompt. The following is the writing prompt:

Out of the blue, I heard footsteps in the empty, dark street…..

Out of the blue, I heard footsteps in the empty, dark street! I knew that I was the only one walking my dog at that hour! No one else was there. So who is it and why? Am I being followed and for what reason? Normally, my dog, Ranger warns me of such peril! Had she not heard it because I know that I am not hallucinating or hearing things. Maybe, I am. Who knows? As a writer, I always looking around for something that I can not feel or see. Some sign or something that intrigues me! It’s crazy because I am fascinated and scared at the same time! It’s a crazy trait that I have developed lately. A vivid imagination of all sorts! I have two choices! I can hide behind the bushes to see what lurks in the dark. Or get back in the house to start brainstorming about a new story! For obvious safety reasons, I probably should take writing! As I walk home, I have all these creative ideas in my bed! I think I will title it “Footsteps in the dark.” Yeah, that has a nice ring to it. I think, lol!
