Tell us about your book Stacey F Coloring and Activity Book.
Children would like drawing and completing this 24-page activity sheet with mazes and word searches. Children and parents alike will have hours of coloring fun with Stacey F, for kids and kids at heart.
Why did you decide to write it?
When children come into the foster care system they usually shut down and become hard to engage. I believe using a coloring and activity books as a tool it may help with meaningful engagement for the social worker and the foster parent.
What’s the best part of being an author?
Taking ownership to what I create and doing research on the storyline to make the characters feel realistic.
What’s the worst part of being an author?
The works part of being an author would be letting my readers down and not being taken seriously as a self-published author. Self-published authors don’t always get the respect they deserve.
Who is your favorite character in the book, and why?
Stacey’s mother is my favorite character in She Named Me Stacey. She put her daughter first.
What was the hardest part of writing the story?
Deciding to write about foster care and wondering if it would be accepted by readers.
