Can you share one highlight from the book?
One of the Highlights of the book: The Million Man March – Two Poems: The Journey and Stomp The Dust, are poetic pieces that I am very proud of because they capture my pride of having been a part of this historic march.
What is the purpose of this book?
The purpose of this book was to show my development as a Poetic Activist over a thirty year period. I want readers to experience political views, spiritual views, and pride of my African Heritage.
Are there themes that you find turn up again and again in your work? A common thread?
The themes and common thread in my works are – I am an African-Centered, Spiritual Christian, and Unapologetic about it.
Which character or part of the book was the most fun to write? Which part was the hardest?
This is a book of poetry. I don’t have any characters in this book.
Can you tell us something that even your most loyal fans may not know about you?
My most loyal fans would not know that I once was an extremely shy person, who would not do public speaking under any circumstances.
Is there anything else you would like to share with our readers?
This collection of poetry and spoken word is just a snapshot of my work. I hope to publish a more complete collection in 2021.
