Book Spotlight – Pendulum of A Mother’s Love by Takia Chase-Smith

Tell us about your book Pendulum of A Mother’s Love.

Pendulum of A Mother’s love is about Mother-Daughter relationships.  The love shared between the two and how to build the broken bond between the two.

Why did you decide to write it?

I decided to write this book because several women would comment on my mother and I relationship.  We are the best of friends and I noticed that not everyone is that close.  I want to encourage each one to become better friends and possibly be able to go out with one another and enjoy the time spent.

What’s the best part of being an author?

The best part of being an author is helping another person through my words. Although the Bible is the first place to go in any situation.

What’s the worst part of being an author?

The worst part of being an author is that you can’t reach everyone.  There are just some audiences that aren’t for you. Wanting to help people and to be an author or business owner you must know who your audience is.

Who is your favorite character in the book, and why?

My favorite character would have to be my Mom.  Her story about her short relationship with her mother and her relationship with me was very heartfelt.

What was the hardest part of writing the story?

This is a collaboration book. The hardest part was the editing of the 16 different authors.

If you were to write a book about your life, what would the title be and why?

The book about my life would be titled The Two Sides of a Soldier and Parent.

What is something readers would be surprised to know about you?

I am a licensed cosmetologist.

What are you currently working on right now?

I am currently working on Pendulum of A Mother’s Love to her Children.

Do you have anything else you would like to add?
