Entertaining Angels is a the third short in the Carver High series. It’s set during Christmastime. This is the story of art teacher Onyx Brown and Sean Jones, a man who reminds her too much of the man who got her pregnant and broke her heart.
Onyx is also a very talented songwriter and singer, but she’s pushed her talent aside because of trauma she experienced while trying to break into the music industry before. She thinks Sean, who has strong ties to the industry, is like all the others. When she agrees to go with him on an unusual holiday getaway, she finds out he’s not a dream robber and is blessed in more ways than she bargained for.
This was a story that I’d started years ago and put on the shelf because it just wasn’t clicking for me. Then I realized it fit in with the Carver High series. Voila! Onyx’s song could finally be heard.
God can surprise us in ways we could never imagine. Just like 1 Corinthians 2:9 tells us: No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him. Onyx and Sean experience God’s blessings big time in this story.
