Book Spotlight – Lukewarm by Angela M. Holmes

BLURB:

Danielle is young, sexy and ambitious. She is moving forward with the speed of light when the pursuit of love changes her plans. Danielle falls victim to a crime of passion that ultimately leads to heartache, abandonment and manslaughter. As she sits in a tiny jail cell she asks herself, “What have I done? How did I get here?”
By the grace of God she was returned to society when others served a life sentence for the same crime. Counting her blessings or is she? Even in jail she continues to make the same choices. Being involved with man after man when the man she should have been involved with was God.
Blessing after blessing, Danielle sees what God has laid out for her but she isn’t ready to follow quite yet. When most people find salvation and self reflection in jail Danielle continues to seek self fulfillment. She is still lukewarm, traveling with her daughter down a disastrous road in the search for the perfect cookie cutter family. If incarceration didn’t bring her to God then maybe escaping death would. Or would it? What does it really take to open ones eye to see the path HE has set out for you?
Come experience the heart wrenching transition from Lukewarm. This trilogy is based on this author’s true life’s trails and spiritual journey that took her to the realization… ONLY GOD.

Can you share one highlight from the book?
There are several, one highlight would be surviving a fatal stabbing altercation, an almost fatal car accident after being shot in the head, and being in an abusive marriage. (Pick one)

What is the purpose of this book?
The purpose of this book is to share my story of living surviving incarcerated after being convicted of manslaughter, gun violence, and domestic violence. To chose the company you keep wisely and make better choices always putting God first in your life.

Which character or part of the book was the most fun to write? Which part was the hardest?
My character Danielle was the most fun to write because you never knew what was next. The hardest character to right would be Juelz because it was all so real and it was truly a love connection that would never go away.

Can you tell us something that even your most loyal fans may not know about you?
That I’m such a loving, caring person and to know me is to know that.

Is there anything else you would like to share with our readers?
That through all the tragedies of life self inflicted or not God brings you out of it with grace and mercy. You can come out of the fire without a stench of smoke.
