Jordan, has a new kid in his class, but unfortunately, she cannot speak English, instead of forcing her to learn English, Jordan has tighten up his apron strings to learn her language. SPANISH! With the help of his mom, Jordan will try to make a new friend. Can he do it?
What is the purpose of this book?
Wow Mom, You Speak Spanish! is a book filled with fun, captivating, and eye catching colors. This 32 paged booklet, will allow kids from 3 to 10 and older to learn some beginning Spanish phrase and words. My goal was to brighten it up with a little story to escalate the interest of kids and also their parents; this books makes for a great bed time story. Furthermore, teachers and librarians can bring this book into the schools to provide a fun way to help bring Spanish to their students.
Are there themes that you find turn up again and again in your work? A common thread?
A theme that I find reoccurring in my writing is being compassionate. We see so many young people struggle with whatever they may be facing in life. They need to be surrounded by compassionate people who are there to help.
Which character or part of the book was the most fun to write? Which part was the hardest?
The most fun part to write was about the conversations Jordan and Ingrid had as they learned Spanish and English together. The hardest part was figuring out how to tell this story in way that would surely keep the attention of my young audience.
Can you tell us something that even your most loyal fans may not know about you?
Some of my most loyal fans may not know that I wanted to write like Stephen King when I was younger. Horror-Fiction is one of my all-time favorite genres.
Is there anything else you would like to share with our readers?
Learning a second language is so important. It will open up many possibilities to create friendships, and in the future, it could open up lots of job opportunities. The younger you are, the easier it is to learn a foreign language. So don’t be afraid to try and learn to explore the world through language learning.
