Book Spotlight – Consuming Logan, A Bachelor of Shell Cove Novel – Siera London

1. Tell us about your latest book.

Consuming Logan is the sixth and final story in the Bachelors of Shell Cove series. Though I celebrate the release of every book, this couple gave me a hard time releasing them in the literary world.

The introduction of Dr. Logan Masters and pediatric nurse, RN Ava Walters launched my writing career in 2015 and finally they get their happy ending. In all honesty, this story is the culmination of my debut series—it was hard to let go.

Though the story embodies all I’ve learned about these two characters and myself as an author, I will miss Logan and Ava.

2. Tell us about the journey that led to you writing this book.

I hate to admit this, but I rewrote Logan and Ava’s manuscript 4 times.

When I wrote the first book in the series, Chasing Ava the world was a different place—safer, more peaceful, more hopeful. Some of the heaviness impacting the world today seeped into the original manuscript, but my editor called me on it.

I’m thankful she did.

Her critique challenged me to uncover the best of Logan and Ava’s final installment.

3. Tell us about one of the people at the center of this book, and what makes them interesting.

Logan Masters is the epitome of an alpha male in love. He’s demanding but dedicated, intense, but in touch with every aspect of Ava as his woman.

Having said that, Logan is arrogant, ambitious, and unyielding. It’s painful, yet beautiful to tear him apart and transform him into the hero that Ava and eventually, his child will need.

Ava Walters is a woman discovering her own power while at the same time growing from a woman attracted to and respecting her man, to challenging him to grow in a new direction to save them both.

You already know this move will be met with resistance by an alpha male like Logan.

4. Why does this book (or this subject) matter to you? Why was it worth spending a year (or five, etc.) of your life on it?

It took me 2.5 years to reveal the parts of Logan and Ava’s relationship that I wanted to share with the readers. I love that NOTHING is perfect for this couple.

You can see the potential cracks in their foundation from chapter one. They are whole, yet broken in areas.

They are in love, but they each dance around the less desirable parts of their personalities… until they can’t.

They are equal parts of messy and magic.

5. What do you love about this book? What makes this book special to you? Is there a part that makes you cry? Makes you laugh? Is there a part you’re secretly most proud of? What is it?

I’ve said this in different ways, but let me be clear, I love Logan and Ava. This was the first couple to trust me, as a writer, with their love story. Logan might be the craziest pediatrician in print. He makes me mad, but his love for Ava makes the romance lover in me sigh.

If you’ve read the first book in the series, Chasing Ava, you know how emotionally blunted Ava was when Logan made his interest known. To see Ava fight to be the kind of woman Logan will need at his side makes me stand up and cheer! You go, lady!

6. Describe the reader who ought to know about this title.

In Consuming Logan you will find humor, emotion, drama—between friends-between family, and danger.

7. What do you hope this book can impart to its readers?

That love can be messy, challenging, beautiful, and consuming. The devotion of another person’s heart into your care is worth the sacrifice of false pride and selfish ambition.

8. What is next for you?

I’m planning my books in my Messy Mandy Presents The Lunchtime Chronicles series. Currently, I have 6 books in this short, erotic romance novella series.

I’d like to delve back into thrillers and romantic comedies. An odd combination, but I enjoy the adventure of crafting storylines that feature characters connecting through different literary elements.

Comedy and danger heighten the emotional connection between characters, creating an intriguing array of emotions for the reader and this author.
