What is your genre? What draws you to this genre?

My genre is poetry and writing short stories and words of encouragement. What draws me to this genre is that I love to speak freely from the soul, full of expression. I love the idea to paint a picture for the audience and make them feel as if they are really going through the motion of my craft while reading it. Something else that brought me to this genre is dealing with grief. I didn’t have an escape route to vent to so I’ve written it out in my own words.

What is your purpose?

My purpose is to reach out to the individuals that had the same experience and show them a way to overcome those obstacles in life. I want to deliver words of inspiration from my growing pains that we may all have in common and let the audience know that they are not alone. Here are some powerful meaningful words to inspire you to get back up and keep striving.

Who has influenced your life as an author?

My first influencer would be my aunt, sister Pauline M. Brown who is also an author. She used to push me everyday to perfect my craft as a writer and share it with the world. Other influencers are people like T.D. Jakes, Steve Harvey, Dr. Myles Monroe, Tyler Perry, ET (Eric Thomas) the hip hop preacher, etc. just to name a few. I’ve been listening to these men words of empowerment and it uplifts me to continue pushing as an author and go after my dreams.

What is your favorite marketing technique? How do you get your book in front of readers?

What I do is that I would make a video of reading a passage from my book or something I just written from the spur of the moment, and then I break it down on what it means and the vision I had behind it. Then I would share it to all my social media platforms and then my friends would share it to their pages and so on. Once it begin to get a buzz, I will advertise it then to reach more readers and followers. At this point my content would begin to grow and establish a bigger audience. To get my book in front of readers I do giveaways and small donations from here and there, along with book signings as well.

What do you want readers to know about you?

I want readers to know that I have a story to tell. All my writing is like this big blueprint of trials and tribulations, the good and bad, joy, motivation, you name it. Even though most of my writing can be self experience, I guarantee somewhere somehow you will find yourself the ability to relate to it. Some readers come back in tears because of the potency of my writing. I’m also working on a short story “Tales Between the Two” which is like a love story with a little twist, and also “Discussions of a Mad Man” which is a book of discussion based from a man’s perspective of things.

What are you reading right now?

Right now I’m reading “5 Love Languages.”

3 fun facts about myself?
