Can you share one highlight from the book?

When the detectives become the target during the investigation, the danger is so quick in most cases it’s too late for them to react.

What is the purpose of this book?

To entertain to put you on a adventure mentally take the reader on a getaway.

Are there themes that you find turn up again and again in your work? A common thread?

A lot of my writing takes place from where I’ve been, Detroit is the background of most of my stories.

Which character or part of the book was the most fun to write? Which part was the hardest?

The Parts dealing with the SWAT team it’s like a taste of Die Hard 2, to see a professional try taking on an unknown threat and getting through it. Writing the female characters, I don’t want them to say things I just want them to say but something that could be said by a female, so I usually ask females that I know what would they do in that situation, an i take those opinions and mix them in.

Can you tell us something that even your most loyal fans may not know about you?

In the early 90s I was in a rap group called Young and Deadly, in 93 we went 12 weeks undefeated on a show called Thursday hip-hop jams 96.3 FM with a song called Let It Rip.

Is there anything else you would like to share with our readers?

Detroit native, Johnny Gilbert wrote his first novel, Villians One, Case of the Smooth Operator, based on a persistent dream he had about a criminal in Detroit. He is working on his next novel, which is science fiction. His long-term goal is to have both books made into movie.
