Which five words best describe The Nonprofit Legacy?
Inspirational, Enlightening, Powerful, Deep, Motivating
Can you share one highlight from the book? One of my favorite highlights from the book came from Dr. Rhonika Thomas. She said “There are over 7.5 billion people on earth. The great and amazing thing about that is there is absolutely no one else like you.” I felt it in my heart when I read it. It made me feel that no matter what I do there is nobody to compete against so failure is not an option.
What is the purpose of this book?
This book has several purposes. One of them being to show people that there is a need for service in the community. A nonprofit can be started for the simplest reasons. No matter what the passion is. Each and every author has a different story but we each have the desire to help someone else and give back to others as our common ground. The purpose of this book is also to leave behind a legacy for other nonprofits and people that desire to start one. A tool on how and why we started ours.
Are there themes that you find turn up again and again in your work? A common thread?
I am also writing a healing journal that will come out the early part of 2021. I find the theme in this book and that one to be the fact that I love to help people figure out how to get past the trauma of their past and live everyday like it is their last. I am a firm believer that if you bless someone else God will bless you.
Can you tell us something that even your most loyal fans may not know about you?
I cry every time I read my chapter. The memory of why I started Tilted Crowns (which is being lost as a teen after the death of my grandmother) is near and dear to my heart. I am reminded of it every time I help someone. I remember that me being lost and without guidance or shall I say proper guidance was hard on me as a teen and young adult. I don’t want another teen to go through years of walking in the wilderness trying to find themselves and trying to figure life out.
Is there anything else you would like to share with our readers?
Go buy this book. Then pick parts of each authors story that you can relate to and just start slow. Start with a vision, a mission, and a purpose but most importantly just start. You are never too young or too old to bless someone else.
