Ghostreaders is Michae and Quintell, a husband & wife narration team. We specialize in working with Black writers. Though both Miami natives, we met in college. We have always been the couple that does everything together, and Ghostreaders is just another opportunity for us to share our lives with each other by breathing melanin into the books we voice. We are Black owned and we love reading. We are passionate about making sure that Black literature is properly rendered and represented. In addition to a love for literature, we also have background in acting and music production, so this comes to bear on the work that we do. In addition to audiobooks, we do other voice work as well – podcasts, commercials, etc. We add soul to your words!
-What is your purpose?
We want to give a Black voice to writings by Black authors/writers.
-Who has influenced your life as an author?
As narrators, we both have a foundation in music and acting, so we use our voice and know how to inject our emotions. Also, hearing Children of Blood & Bone with a Black narrator was a wonderful experience, and we want all Black readers to feel that.
-What is your favorite marketing technique? How do you get your book in front of readers?
We like talking on shows and podcasts. Michae is the ‘talker’ of the two of us, so if you have a long enough conversation, it’s likely to come up then as well!
-What is something you want readers to know about you?
We put a lot of research and thought into narration, so you can trust that we will treat your work like the precious work that it is. We also prioritize communicating with the author to make sure the audiobook is in line with the author’s vision.
-What are you reading right now?
Quintell actually just finished reading Little Fires Everywhere and is currently reading a poetry book by author Jennifer Harris called Thinking I’m Grown

-3 Fun facts about yourself
-We like to play games – video (though not as much lately), board, card, brain, whatever.
-We worked in foster care before we got married so we had kids before we had kids. We like to say that we are professionally trained parents
-We wrote our own wedding song
