Book Spotlight: Paramedic Chris

Which five words best describe Paramedic Chris?
Words to describe paramedic Chris: Kind, compassionate, healthy, loving, and caring.

Can you share one highlight from the book?
The ending of the book is what sticks out to my mind where Zara, Luke, and his Zara’s mum are all reunited.

What is the purpose of this book?
Purpose of the book: To educate children aged between the ages of four and ten years of age upon the works of the ambulance service.

Are there themes that you find turn up again and again in your work? A common thread?
A common thread with all three episodes is how Chris is compassionate, goes out of his way to support others and that it is important we care for one another.

Which character or part of the book was the most fun to write? Which part was the hardest?
I found the easiest character to write about was Chris himself as I have spent a number of hours with Chris on duty in the ambulance while I have been third manning and he is a very compassionate person. Zara, Luke, Nan, and the other characters in the next episodes were slightly more difficult to write about as I had spent less time with the characters.

Can you tell us something that even your most loyal fans may not know about you?
That is a tricky one! I guess my fans would not know that was crafty as a child, for example, when I was around four years old, my mum told me I screamed in the garden saying my brother had bitten me, my mum came racing out and suddenly remembered my brother was at school!

Is there anything else you would like to share with our readers?
I want to say a huge thank you to everybody who works in the ambulance service and the paramedic Chris series are all dedicated to their hard work. I also want to dedicate the series to my Dad who sadly passed away in August 2019.
