Her eyes widened. “We don’t underestimate you. We know the only power given to the devil comes from God for His purpose. You have no power over us. You fear us.”
Hornsby rested his arms on his thighs. His hands were crossed in-between his legs. “Fear you? I don’t fear you. You are nothing to fear. You’re a smart woman, but still a woman. Your son is a smart nigger, but still a nigger.”
Yvonne leaned forward, both hands flat on her lap. “You know what I see when I look in the mirror? I see Harriet Tubman and Rosa Parks, women I would’ve been if I was living during that time. You should fear the black woman.”
“And why is that?”
She inched forward. “Because what the black man hasn’t started, the black woman will. And what the black man doesn’t finish, the black woman will.”
His eyes narrowed.
What is the purpose of this book?
To help people realize how close America is to becoming Nazi-Germany, and the need to utilize the power in their hands which is the right to vote.
Which character or part of the book was the most fun to write? Which part was the hardest?
The most fun to write was Yvonne. I didn’t have a character that was hard to write. The common thread is that the racists are the minority but hold political and financial power in America.
Can you tell us something that even your most loyal fans may not know about you?
I left college and the workforce in 1979 to fulfill a spiritual calling that lasted for 11 years. During that time I studied the Bible and the history of its days and wrote a spiritual book that I will publish in the near future.
Is there anything else you would like to share with our readers?
I am grateful to those who have read my debut novel, and highly recommend that those who haven’t, read it before reading Part 2. Also. The Audible-book for Mirrors of Life Part 2 is narrated by Broadway performer Charles Gray, whose dramatization is Excellent!
There are several things that I am secretly proud of in the book, but I cannot tell you what it is. I’m sure when you read it, you will discover it.
