Initiation (Sapphires Social Club – Nicole J. Knight Book Review

Initiation (Sapphires Social Club – Nicole J. Knight

For sophomore girls at Moreland High School getting that one-of-the-kind- invitation is the highlight of the school year. Four girls get that invitation. Queenie (my namesake) is a cheerleader, has a boyfriend, and is so happy go lucky. Taylor plays tennis but doesn’t want to be a part of this social group at all. She didn’t even sign up for it. Chanel is the “ghetto girl” who makes the honor roll but hides her status. Anna Maria is the big girl that wants to be accept.

I really enjoyed this novel. I could relate to all four girls in the story. This story is about deception, love, friendships, lies, and faith.

This is a young adult book, but I recommend it to young ladies- middle and high school plus adult women. This book shows us how we must balance our lives when we have some much other to juggle. Putting priorities and responsibilities first or what comes first in your life.

The story line and characters were on point. I really enjoyed this book. I can’t wait for the next one.   I give this book 5 stars.
