Divas of Damascus Road – Michelle Stimpson
Three cousins Dianna, Yolanda, and Regina were a family with strong minded women who were holding out secrets. Dianna struggles with relationships. She moved away because of the guilt and hurt and was adamant about not coming back to Dentonville. Regina is a lawyer and married with a newborn. She has weight issues and eating disorders. Yolanda is an OCD pharmacist and has the perfect life. Aunt Gloria is getting married and takes care of sister Joyce Ann who is a drug addict.
The secrets and lies finally comes out. Family secrets run deep. The secrets are real and will come back to haunt. Mental illness is no joke.
The characters were real and with real life situations and problems. The characters had issues but was afraid to let anyone know that they need help. The characters spoke to me and I could relate to them.
The story line was well developed and well written. The drama and suspense kept me turning the pages until the wee hours of the night.
In the end, Dianna, Yolanda, Regina, and Aunt Gloria found the inner strength they didn’t know they had. Healing can’t begin when certain truths haven’t been revealed. I recommend this book and I give it 4 stars.
